Abstract	:	Background: There is no official sexually transmitted infections (STI) surveillance in Hong Kong, although some evidence shows it may be on the rise, in addition to the conflicting evidence on the extent of bridging of STI between high-risk groups and the general population. Objectives: To determine chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis prevalence and to identify district, familial and individual-level factors correlated with STI and behavioural risks in Hong Kong. Design is cross-sectional. A computer-assisted self-interview will be used to details on their sexual risky and preventive behaviours as well as testing for chlamydia and gonorrhoea using nucleic amplication testing and syphilis using point-of-care tests. Setting and Participants:1064 representative adults aged 18-49 years will be drawn by a three-stepped population-based sampling method. Main Outcome Measures and Data Analysis: The main outcome of interest will be chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis but multi-level and spatial models will also be constructed to predict STI or history of STI. Expected Deliverables and Significance: 1) Population-based chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis burden estimation among the general population in Hong Kong; 2) Multilevel spatial analysis of STI in Hong Kong and mapping sexual risks which has the potential for spatially targeted STI Interventions and to inform reproductive and public health policy in the region. The project team is a truly international, multidisciplinary team with substantial experience working together on STI epidemiology and control in Hong Kong and China, and has an added benefit of capacity building for infectious disease epidemiologists in Hong Kong.
